Wizard. <<Vidal>> Age:
25 years old. Gender:
Wizard/fortune teller. Favorite Gift:
Very seemingly cheerful and cheeky, Vidal is a trickster at heart with a dark sense of humour. Despite that tries his best not to be mean like offering bad advice and correcting himself moments later. You can often find him giggling when others trip or fall, not that he won't help you up…He just thinks it's funny.
When not working as a fortune teller, you can find him lounging around under shaded trees <in summer/spring> or inside his house reading or crafting potions <fall/winter>. Likes:
Gold, mushrooms, Fugue Mushroom, Ores, morning glories. Dislikes:
bad/failed dishes, sunflowers, junk or trash. History:
There once was a woman who fell in love.
Her heart fluttering as he passed, he was one of those men who just seemed to carry the world around him with ease where she… She was invisible to him or so it seemed and would have done anything to get his attention, often walking in his shadow to feel close to the love of her life.
One day she happened to meet a hooded man resting beneath a tree on an off street path into the fields, a travelling man she guessed. In curiosity she approached him. The man greeted her cheerfully and asked her if she'd like her fortune told, twirling a glass ball on the tip of his finger. The woman retorted that she had no money to give, thinking that the man was surely just trying to rip her off. The hooded man simply chuckled telling her it was free.
So the woman sat in the grass as the glass ball whispered softly, words she couldn't understand to the man as he revealed that the love of her life returned her feelings and was just shy towards her. He advised her to seek him and confront him before everyone for it would make him aware of her returned feelings. The woman ran off without a word. The hooded man waited, giggling impatiently for her return.
The hooded man liked to lie, traveling from town to town, telling young girls and boys the opposite of what his crystal ball would tell him. It was fun to watch them throw everything away because someone told them to, how quickly they'd invest in his words like they were gospel truth. They would yell at him as if he had put a spell on them, as if he'd need to.
He did not expect the woman to come back as she did; screaming obscenities his way, her father's long barrelled gun in hand. She had taken the false advice to heart and had demanded the man's heart, scaring him away…He hadn't loved her, nor even known her name, she had done it in front of the entire town… The other girls laughed and others whispered to each other, calling her crazy and delusional.
The hooded man couldn't help but laugh at her predicament, it was a nervous laugh as he was aware of the gun -- but she wouldn't take a shot at him would she? She looked like she had never even held one in her life.
But as he laughed at her, she mimicked what she had seen her father do during target practise, the weapon making a loud crack as a shell shot out of the barrel, piercing the hooded man through and through. The man slumped over, quiet as frightened birds fled from the trees around them. Frightened, the woman fled, taking the gun with her and leaving the hooded man for dead.
The hooded man sat in shock, blood staining his cloak and the pain slowly crawling over his shoulder and chest…despite this he did nothing but sit in disbelief. Of all the people who had threatened him before, she had actually done it…over a boy?
Over time, unable to move and alone to think, he whispered to the crystal ball in his lap, asking for advice. The ball took moment to reply but advised him to start over and stop what he was doing and if he continued this path that he would not live much longer.
The hooded man finally passed out, only to awake on the back of a horse drawn wagon, an elderly man turned back to see if he was awake, asking him what had happened as they headed out of the town. The hooded man touched his chest and winced, assuring the man it was a long story. The man chuckled and asked him if he could drop him off to a clinic or a family member.
The hooded man simply asked him if he could stay in the back until he found a new place to start over, his hand gently pressed against the crystal ball. Orientation:
